MEET AMANDA

Unbought. Unbossed. Unapologetic.

Amanda is a lifelong resident of Lycoming County and grew up on what remains of her family’s small farm. Like many Pennsylvanians, she has lived paycheck-to-paycheck as a single mother who often worked multiple jobs to provide for her kids, pay the bills, and put herself through college. She knows firsthand what it’s like to live on a tight budget and make the tough choice between paying the electric bill or putting food on the table.

When Amanda was lead intern in the Office of the Lt. Governor, she saw firsthand how dysfunctional the government is. She watched as people’s priorities were disregarded and common-sense legislation never made it to a vote. The out-of-touch politicians were invested in listening to their wealthy donors instead of their constituents, making life harder for residents of rural Pennsylvania. Unlike these status-quo politicians, she will listen to and represent everyone, regardless of political party, and plans to hold monthly town hall meetings when elected.

Amanda currently works as an Appeals Representative in the Medicare industry. She is a graduate of Bloomsburg University, a board member of the Center for Independent Living, a member of the Lycoming County Commissioner’s Diversability Committee, an AmeriCorps Alumni, and a community volunteer. She has considerable real-world experience mediating conflict to get the job done, and has the bulldog determination required to make progress toward a better future for all hardworking Pennsylvanians.

I am tired of watching my communities fall apart based on a letter of the alphabet. 90% of Pennsylvanians are hardworking people. We come up with solutions to hard problems every day, yet our government is at a standstill playing party politics while our lives and neighborhoods hang in the balance. Party aside, it is time to get the work of the people done.
— Amanda Waldman, Democratic Congressional Candidate - PA 9th District
